D'Cruz opened up about her journey to self-love in an interview with IANS Life. She says that she has come a long way and is a lot more confident. "I have always had issues accepting my body the way it is. I have finally come to a place maybe where I am learning to like it how it is. I am respecting it a lot more and taking care of it a lot more. And I think it is showing, so I am happier right now."

For D'Cruz, eating healthy is important. "Earlier I used to spend so much time in the gym and did not focus as much on what I was eating," she told IANS Life "I have realised that ninety percent of what you look like is your diet. So, you need to eat well. Invest in a good nutritionist if possible. Eat clean, eat well. That's what I try and do as much as possible now. I am very careful about what I am eating. Keep a check on how much sugar you consume daily."

D'Cruz tells IANS Life that she tries to not feel pressure to look a certain way. "People have a certain perception of how you are supposed to look. When you are portrayed on screen, you are portrayed in a glamorous way. Women are meant to look pretty and perfect. Now there is the paparazzi phase. When you get papped outside the gym or airport, you often look just normal. I try to put in a sense of reality on Instagram more than anything. I am a normal person and there are days when I don't look perfect and it's fine."

In an interview, D'Cruz shared one of her workout secrets. "I learnt a trick that everyone should use: when you are on the machine just start watching a show or a movie on your Ipad or tablet and you'll forget about what you are doing. That's what I used to do and it made it so much easier."

D'Cruz loves to swim to stay in shape. She shared this video on Instagram of herself underwater in a pool. Better Health states that swimming has a lot of health benefits. "Swimming is a good all-round activity because it: Keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body. Builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness. Helps you maintain a healthy weight, healthy heart and lungs."
